AGREEMENT TO OUR LEGAL TERMS
We are Growth Stock Dashboard ("Company," "we," "us," "our"), an individual operator providing an invitation-only educational web dashboard at https://growthstockdashboard.com (the "Site," collectively the "Services").
The Services display algorithmically-generated composite scores, fundamental data, and analyst recommendation tiers for publicly-traded stocks, sourced from third-party financial data providers (Finnhub, Yahoo Finance) for informational and educational purposes only. The Services do not provide personalized investment advice, execute trades, hold customer funds, or act as a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer.
You can contact us by email at support@growthstockdashboard.com.
These Legal Terms constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you"), and Growth Stock Dashboard, concerning your access to and use of the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you agree that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all of these Legal Terms. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL OF THESE LEGAL TERMS, YOU ARE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED FROM USING THE SERVICES AND MUST DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY.
Supplemental terms or documents that may be posted on the Services from time to time are hereby expressly incorporated herein by reference. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to make changes or modifications to these Legal Terms at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Last updated" date and the version string at the top of these Legal Terms, and by requiring you to re-accept the updated Terms via the in-app acceptance modal before you continue to use the Services. Your continued use of the Services after such re-acceptance constitutes your agreement to the updated Terms.
The Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old. Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to use or register for the Services.

1. OUR SERVICES
The information provided when using the Services is not intended for distribution to or use by any person or entity in any jurisdiction or country where such distribution or use would be contrary to law or regulation or which would subject us to any registration requirement within such jurisdiction or country. Accordingly, those persons who choose to access the Services from other locations do so on their own initiative and are solely responsible for compliance with local laws, if and to the extent local laws are applicable.
The Services are not tailored to comply with industry-specific regulations (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), etc.), so if your interactions would be subjected to such laws, you may not use the Services.
The Services include simulated portfolio tracking, an "AI Trades" feature (an algorithmically-managed simulated portfolio), and a "Paper Trading" feature (a user-driven simulated portfolio). Both are paper-trading simulations only. No real-money trades are executed by the Services. No customer funds are ever held. All trade entries shown in any portfolio, AI Trades, or Paper Trading view are illustrative and educational, and do not represent actual securities transactions.
2. NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE
The Services do not provide investment, financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice. Growth Stock Dashboard is operated by an individual who is NOT a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, certified financial planner, tax professional, or attorney. No content on the Services should be construed as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, nor as an endorsement of any investment strategy.
All composite scores, recommendation tiers (e.g., "Strong Buy," "Buy," "Accumulate," "Watchlist," "Hold," "Sell"), risk ratings, future-proof scores, and other analytical outputs are generated algorithmically from publicly-available third-party financial data. They are mechanical outputs of formulas applied to data points. They are not human-curated picks. They do not consider your personal financial circumstances, risk tolerance, investment goals, tax situation, or timeframe. They may be wildly inaccurate, out of date, or simply wrong.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for evaluating the merits and risks of any investment decision.
- You will not rely on the Services as the sole basis for any investment decision.
- Past performance is not indicative of future results.
- All investing carries risk. You may lose your entire investment.
- Before making any investment decision, you will conduct your own independent research and consult a licensed financial professional who knows your personal circumstances.
- The operator of the Services has no fiduciary relationship with you and owes you no duty of care with respect to your investment decisions.
3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
Our intellectual property
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our Services, including all source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, audio, video, text, photographs, and graphics in the Services (collectively, the "Content"), as well as the trademarks, service marks, and logos contained therein (the "Marks").
Our Content and Marks are protected by copyright and trademark laws (and various other intellectual property rights and unfair competition laws) and treaties in the United States and around the world.
The Content and Marks are provided in or through the Services "AS IS" for your personal, non-commercial use only.
Your use of our Services
Subject to your compliance with these Legal Terms, including the "PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES" section below, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the Services solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
Except as set out in this section or elsewhere in our Legal Terms, no part of the Services and no Content or Marks may be copied, reproduced, aggregated, republished, uploaded, posted, publicly displayed, encoded, translated, transmitted, distributed, sold, licensed, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose whatsoever, without our express prior written permission.
If you wish to make any use of the Services, Content, or Marks other than as set out in this section or elsewhere in our Legal Terms, please address your request to support@growthstockdashboard.com.
Any breach of these Intellectual Property Rights will constitute a material breach of our Legal Terms and your right to use our Services will terminate immediately.

10. TERM AND TERMINATION
These Legal Terms shall remain in full force and effect while you use the Services. However, we have no obligation to update any information on our Services. 12. GOVERNING LAW
These Legal Terms and your use of the Services are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, applicable to agreements made and to be entirely performed within the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
13. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Informal Negotiations
To expedite resolution and control the cost of any dispute, controversy, or claim related to these Legal Terms (each a "Dispute" and collectively, the "Disputes") brought by either you or us (individually, a "Party" and collectively, the "Parties"), the Parties agree to first attempt to negotiate any Dispute (except those Disputes expressly provided below) informally for at least thirty (30) days before initiating arbitration. Such informal negotiations commence upon written notice from one Party to the other Party.
Binding Arbitration
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Legal Terms, including any question regarding its existence, validity, or termination, shall be referred to and finally resolved by binding arbitration administered in Broward County, Florida. The arbitration shall be conducted in English in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
Class Action Waiver
YOU AND WE AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. Further, the Parties agree that the arbitrator may not consolidate proceedings or more than one person's claims, and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding. If this specific provision is found to be unenforceable, then the entirety of this Dispute Resolution section shall be null and void.
Restrictions
The Parties agree that any arbitration shall be limited to the Dispute between the Parties individually. To the full extent permitted by law: (a) no arbitration shall be joined with any other proceeding; (b) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be arbitrated on a class-action basis or to utilize class action procedures; and (c) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be brought in a purported representative capacity on behalf of the general public or any other persons.
Exceptions to Arbitration
The Parties agree that the following Disputes are not subject to the above provisions concerning informal negotiations and binding arbitration: (a) any Disputes seeking to enforce or protect, or concerning the validity of, any of the intellectual property rights of a Party; (b) any Dispute related to, or arising from, allegations of theft, piracy, invasion of privacy, or unauthorized use; and (c) any claim for injunctive relief.

9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

The 60-second summary
Every trading day, a GitHub Actions job pulls fundamental data for about 4,500 U.S. stocks from Financial Modeling Prep. For each stock, we compute more than 30 individual factors — things like return on invested capital, debt-to-equity, revenue growth, 12-month price momentum, and realized volatility. These factors are grouped into 8 categories, each of which gets a z-score (how many standard deviations above or below the universe average the stock sits). The z-scores are combined with fixed weights into two final display scores, each on a 0‑100 scale: a Composite score that answers "is this a fundamentally sound company?", and a Growth score that answers "is this a growth compounder?".
There is no magic, no machine learning, and no hand-curated picks. Just a transparent, deterministic formula run over whatever data the daily refresh pulled from FMP.
The factor library
Factors are grouped into 8 categories. Each category contributes a weighted amount to the final Composite and Growth scores. Within each category, the individual factors are averaged together (after z-score normalization — see below) to produce a category z-score.
Z-score normalization
Raw factor values aren't comparable to each other. A P/E of 18 is "cheap"-ish for a mature industrial but expensive for a commodity producer. A 25% revenue growth rate is boring for a SaaS startup but extraordinary for a bank. To compare factors on an equal footing, every raw value is converted to a z-score: how many standard deviations above or below the universe average the stock sits.
The pipeline is:
- Winsorize — clip each factor's raw values to the 1st and 99th percentiles across the universe. Prevents one outlier from dominating the distribution.
- Compute mean and standard deviation — across all tickers that have a non-null value for that factor.
- Z-score — for each ticker,
z = (value − mean) ÷ stdev, clipped to ±3. - Flip direction for "lower is better" factors — P/E, debt/equity, volatility, etc. get their sign inverted so that a higher z always means "better."
- Average within group — for each of the 8 categories, average the z-scores of the factors in that group to get a category z-score.
- Apply weights and sum — multiply each category z-score by its category weight, sum across all present categories, and renormalize if any category is missing.
- Convert to display score —
display = clamp(50 + 15 × composite_z, 0, 100). A ticker one standard deviation above the average on the weighted composite scores 65; two standard deviations gets you 80.
The two scores and their weights
Every ticker gets two scores from the same 8 category z-scores, combined with two different weight vectors.

Weights are fixed at version v3 release — we do not let users customize them, because that would turn the score into a backtested-over-your-own-portfolio curve-fitting exercise. A future major version (v4) may expose weight customization as an advanced option, but with guardrails around overfitting.
Universe-relative vs. sector-relative
The default Composite and Growth scores shown on stock cards are universe-relative: a ticker's z-score is computed against the entire ~4,500-stock universe. This is the right framing for the question "is this a good company, period?".
Under the hood, we also compute a parallel set of sector-relative scores that re-run the same pipeline using only the other stocks in that ticker's GICS sector as the comparison universe. This is the right framing for the question "is this company well-run relative to its peers?" — a necessarily different question. Sector-relative scores are exposed via a toggle on the stock cards grid, and will get their own tier labels in a future UI revision.
Sectors with fewer than 20 tickers fall back to the universe-relative stats for that factor group, because you can't meaningfully compute a mean and standard deviation from a handful of data points.
What happens when data is missing
Not every ticker has every factor. Small caps might be missing analyst coverage. Newly-IPO'd companies might not have 3-year growth rates. Any individual call to the data provider can fail silently.
The scoring pipeline handles missing data with two rules:
- A factor with a null value contributes nothing to its category z-score. It is not silently treated as "average" (a bug we shipped once and then fixed — see commit
1fc587a). - A ticker needs non-null data in at least 3 of the 8 category groups to be eligible for a score at all. Below that threshold, the ticker is shown as "No score" in the UI — we'd rather show nothing than show a misleadingly-average number.
- When a ticker is missing one or more category groups, the weights are renormalized over the categories it does have. This means a ticker missing the Growth group isn't systematically penalized for having missing data — it just scores based on the factors it actually has.
The AI layer
When you click "Generate Analysis" on a stock modal, the dashboard sends the factor data (not the company name alone — the actual numbers) to Claude, Anthropic's large language model, and asks for a 3-paragraph educational summary. The prompt is constrained by a set of hard rules:
- No buy / sell / should / recommend / target price language, ever.
- No forward-looking statements — only descriptions of historical data.
- No comparisons to imagined market benchmarks the model doesn't have data for.
- No speculation about management, product, or strategy.
- No analysis at all for tickers that don't have a v3 score (insufficient factor coverage).
Every generated analysis is cached for 24 hours in our database, so repeated views of the same stock on the same day don't burn new API calls. If the model's response ever violates the constraints, please report it — see Full Disclaimer for contact info.
Limitations we know about
This is a transparent list of what the scoring engine does not do:
- No forward-looking estimates. We use only trailing fundamentals and historical prices. The formula cannot "see" guidance, analyst estimates, or forward P/E.
- No survivorship-bias correction. The universe is today's ~4,500 tickers. Companies that went bankrupt or got delisted don't appear. Historical backtests run over this universe will overstate returns.
- No point-in-time sector classification. GICS sector assignments are current, not historical — a company's sector three years ago might not match today's.
- No transaction cost modeling. If you traded on these scores, fees and slippage would eat into returns.
- Limited coverage of foreign and OTC names. The dashboard is U.S.-listed, FMP-covered only. Nothing from OTC pink sheets, international exchanges, or most ADRs.
- No regime detection. Momentum works in some market regimes and actively hurts in others. The formula is the same in every regime.

Not a Registered Adviser
The operator of this dashboard is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner. Nothing on this site is intended as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security.
Algorithmic Output
Composite scores, risk ratings, "buy/sell" labels, and any other analytical output are produced by automated formulas operating on publicly-available third-party data. They are not human-curated picks and they may be wildly inaccurate. Treat them as a starting point for your own research, not as conclusions.
Data Accuracy
Stock prices, fundamentals, and analyst ratings come from third-party providers (Finnhub, Yahoo Finance) and may be delayed, incorrect, or out of date. The operator does not independently verify these data feeds.
Risk of Loss
All investing carries risk. You can lose your entire investment. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Information shown on this site, including any back-tested or simulated results, may differ materially from real-world outcomes.
No Personal Recommendations
The Service does not know your financial situation, risk tolerance, tax circumstances, or investment goals. Any output should be evaluated only in conjunction with advice from a qualified professional who knows your personal circumstances.
Consult a Professional
Before making any investment decision, you should consult a licensed financial adviser, accountant, or attorney as appropriate for your situation. Do not rely on this dashboard alone.
